Puglia, or Apulia as it is also known, is a region in Southern Italy bordering the Adriatic Sea to the east, the Ionian Sea to the southeast, and the Strait of Otranto and the Gulf of Otranto to the south. It is also known as 'the heel of the boot' and has over 800km of stunning coastline. The Itria Valley, a UNESCO world heritage site is a very special region within the heart of Puglia known as the 'Land of the Trullo' - where houses with their white-washed cones are visible across the rolling olive tree filled hills of the entire valley.
